OncoZenge – Research analysis on the dental care opportunity for BupiZenge™

Impala Nordic publishes a research analysis of OncoZenge AB (publ) ("OncoZenge" or the "Company") examining where a lozenge-based, needle-free local anaesthetic could fit into everyday dental pain management, and which subsegments appear most relevant. The analysis assesses three distinct use cases: scaling and root planing, postoperative pain following dental procedures, and recurrent aphthous stomatitis.
It has been developed in dialogue with two dental clinical experts. Dr Paul Murtagh is an experienced dentist and clinic founder with international clinical experience across Ireland, the UK, Sweden and the United States. He has been recognised for research in dental materials, including an award from the International Association for Dental Research, has completed advanced training in implant dentistry, and has founded and operated multiple dental clinics in Ireland and Sweden. He has also worked as a clinical supervisor within the Swedish Public Dental Service. Dr Sayf Hosamaldin is a dentist undertaking specialist training in maxillofacial surgery while pursuing medical studies at Linköping University, is research-active across two university hospitals, and serves as Chair of the Junior Section of the Swedish Association for Maxillofacial Surgery. Their input shapes the clinical assessment of where a locally acting lozenge could realistically be used, and where it could not.
Our conclusion is that dental care is a credible long-term expansion area for BupiZenge™ rather than a near-term value driver. None of the ongoing rights issue is earmarked for dental development, and on the current plan a dental indication would be a partnering or licensing opportunity that sits behind the Phase III readout in sequence.
