Forbrugsforeningen af 1886, Denmarks longest running loyalty program, today entered the digital era in partnership with Loyal Solutions.

Forbrugsforeningen started in 1886 – 139 years ago – when Grover Cleveland was US president, King Edvard the VII was king of the United Kingdom, King Christina IX was ruling Denmark and Liverpool FC was not yet founded. Manchester United was though, 6 years earlier
I 2025 Forbrugsforeningen is still the strongest and best performing loyalty program in our native Denmark

Earlier this year Forbrugsforeningen selected Loyal Solutions to provide the next technology platform in its storied 139-year history. Everyone at Loyal Solutions are incredibly proud and humbled, that we are afforded the opportunity to play a part in the next chapters of this incredible story.

Today, October 1, 2025, the new technology was launched successfully in the market, and it is indeed a momentous day for our young company. We are honored to be working with legacy brands across the world as Etihad Airways, Aldar, Virgin Velocity, Emirates, Cathay, Qatar Airways, Air Canada, E&, Visa, Mastercard, Scandinavian Airlines and others. Being entrusted with preserving a 139-year legacy and moving the technology into the digital age is such an honor for us.

If you look at the picture, which is central Copenhagen 1886 you are viewing the city at Gammel Strand very near Christiansborg, our parliament, where today the EU leaders are meeting and discussing how to manage the challenging global situation.  But the area looks the same today, the cars are different, the canals have electric tour boats, but the buildings are still there. Let’s hope this Danish resilience prevails.
