PUUILO PLC, PRESS RELEASE, 30 OCTOBER 2026 at 7.30 a.m.

Puuilo will expand its store network by opening a new store in Pietarsaari on Tehtaankatu, next to K-Citymarket, in autumn 2027. The store will be located in a central commercial location alongside busy traffic route. Construction work in the area has already begun. When opening, the store will employ approximately 13 people, and recruitment will begin in early 2027.

"We have received a lot of requests from the Pietarsaari region, and it is great to bring Puuilo to the area. The location next to K-Citymarket is excellent for us. Currently, the nearest Puuilo store is located in Kokkola, and many of our customers from the area have been shopping there. We can now serve our customers closer to home, and we believe the new store will attract customers from across the region", says CEO Juha Saarela.

Puuilo’s growth is progressing in line with its strategy in both Finland and Sweden. Puuilo currently has approximately 60 stores in Finland, and the company continues to expand its store network. During the current financial year 2026, the company has opened new stores in Raasepori Karjaa, Lahti Holma, Kangasala, Espoo Espoonlahti, Hollola and Jyväskylä Vaajakoski. The company has previously announced that it will open further new stores during the current financial year in Kurikka and Turku. In addition, Puuilo will open new stores in Jämsä, Ylivieska, Loviisa, Valkeakoski, Sipoo and Naantali in 2027. In Sweden, the company has announced the opening of its first two stores in Örebro and Sundsvall. Other future store openings will be announced later.
