SIBS Sdn Bhd and Berjaya Land Group sign MoU to develop sustainable modular homes in Greenland
On June 16, SIBS Sdn Bhd signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Berjaya Land Group to bring sustainable, high-quality modular homes to Greenland. This is a key step in the companies’ shared ambition to expand innovative housing solutions to new markets.
The project, which is currently in the planning and design phase, will be carried out by Berjaya Greenland Invest A/S, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berjaya Land.
The project, with a gross development value (GDV) of RM170 million (SEK 380 million) will consist of 66 apartment units across eight blocks in Nuuk, Greenland's capital. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2026 and is expected to be completed within two years.
The partnership between SIBS and Berjaya Land aims to leverage modular construction techniques to deliver efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable housing solutions. SIBS modular construction allows for faster deployment and greater efficiency compared to traditional building methods. The project is also expected to generate economic benefits, including job creation and support for local contractors. Additionally, Berjaya Land is exploring the possibility of including a hotel and hotel residences in the project to support Greenland's growing tourism industry.
This collaboration underscores SIBS's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community development, aligning with the company's core values and vision for a better future.
