Troax launches the world's first fully recycled machine guarding solution
Troax, the global market leader in industrial safety, is launching Smart Fix Re:Cycled – the world's first machine guarding mesh panel made entirely from recycled and low-emission materials.
“For Troax, safety and sustainability are closely intertwined. This is a solution for our customers who don’t want to compromise,”says Martin Nyström, President & CEO of Troax Group. “The Smart Fix Re:Cycled is part of our Re:Guarding programme, where we innovate to set new standards for better and more sustainable solutions.”
The new sustainable machine guarding solution is made using recycled and low-emission steel, as well as recycled plastic top caps* and recycled powder coating. The colour powder is collected and reused between orders to reduce waste, which means each order’s colour is unique. The overall carbon footprint of the Smart Fix Re:Cycled is more than 70% lower than Troax’s standard alternative, while maintaining the same high level of protection that customers expect from Troax’s solutions. It matches the performance of the Smart Fix ST20 – widely regarded as the “golden standard” in machine guarding – in every measurable respect.
“This is a commercial breakthrough as much as an environmental one. We're showing that you don't have to choose between sustainability and performance – and that's a strong message for our customers,” says Martin Nyström.
The Smart Fix Re:Cycled will be launched at the Elmia Automation fair in Jönköping, Sweden, 19-22 May. The panel will initially be available in Europe.
*The top caps are made of rPETg, a durable recycled plastic (recycled polyethylene terephthalate glycol).
