Puuilo continues to develop its store network by renewing its Kajaani store. The current store building has reached the end of its lifecycle and no longer meets Puuilo’s operational needs. However, the location has proven to be excellent and functional, which is why a completely new store of approximately 3,000 m² will be built on the same site to better serve the growing customer base. Construction work will begin in the spring of 2026 and will proceed in stages. The existing store will remain open and operate normally until the new store is completed. The new store is scheduled to open latest in the summer of 2027. Once the new store is opened, the old building will be demolished.

“Kajaani is home to Puuilo’s very first physical store, which gives this location significant historical value for us. Many customers in the Kainuu region still remember us from our early ‘Ilmat pois’ slogan. At the same time, Kajaani remains an important commercial area for Puuilo. We are pleased to be able to renew this particular store. The renewal will further strengthen our ability to serve our customers in the best possible way. During the construction period, parking space will be temporarily more limited, but this is only a short-term inconvenience,” says Puuilo’s CEO Juha Saarela.

Puuilo’s growth continues in line with its strategy. The company has announced that during the financial year 2026 it will open stores in Hollola, Espoo Espoonlahti, Jyväskylä Vaajakoski, Lahti Holma, Kangasala, and Raasepori Karjaa as well as a new store in Ylivieska in 2027. Additional store openings will be announced later.
