PUUILO PLC, PRESS RELEASE, 11 DECEMBER 2025 at 8.00 a.m.

Puuilo will open a new store in Vaajakoski, Jyväskylä, in spring 2026. The store will be located on Haapaniementie in the premises currently occupied by Marine Machinery Store. Marine will move to adjacent premises on the same lot. The space will undergo renovation, which will also include the construction of a garden section. The store will employ about 15 people when it opens, and recruitment will begin early in the year.

The Vaajakoski store will be Puuilo’s third in Jyväskylä. The existing stores are located in Seppälä and Keljo, with the Seppälä store scheduled to move to new premises during 2027. According to Puuilo’s CEO Juha Saarela, there is room for three Puuilo stores in Jyväskylä: “The Vaajakoski store is ideally located on the opposite side of the city compared to our current stores. I believe Puuilo will complement the local retail offering and serve customers coming also from Toivakka and Lievestuore very well.”

Puuilo’s growth continues in line with its strategy. During the current financial year, Puuilo has opened stores in Varkaus, Savonlinna, Lohja, Mäntsälä, Jyväskylä Keljo, and Iisalmi. In addition, the company will open a store in Heinola in January 2026. In 2026, Puuilo will open stores in Hollola, Espoonlahti in Espoo, Lahti Holma, and Kangasala Lentola, in addition to Vaajakoski in Jyväskylä, and in Ylivieska in 2027.
