The acquisition brings together Elmo’s comprehensive ICT and cybersecurity services and Solu Digital’s strong expertise in AI, data and information management, and Microsoft productivity solutions. Together, Elmo and Solu Digital form a new kind of partner that helps Finnish and Nordic organizations turn business-critical data and AI into concrete value and sustainable competitive advantage.
[Helsinki, 28 September 2026] – Finnish ICT services company ICT Elmo Oy and Solu Digital Oy, a provider of information management solutions based on Microsoft technologies, have completed an acquisition through which Solu Digital becomes part of Elmo.
The transaction is a significant strategic step for Elmo. It strengthens Elmo’s AI, data and Microsoft productivity services and expands the company’s ability to help its customers use technology comprehensively in business development.
Elmo already manages its customers’ ICT environments, cloud services, devices, cybersecurity and business continuity. Solu Digital complements this with strong expertise in data-driven management, business process development, project management, and Microsoft productivity, data and AI solutions. The expertise includes SharePoint-based document management and intranets, Teams workspace and project management solutions, Power Platform automations, Power BI, Copilot and Microsoft Fabric, as well as continuous development, maintenance and end-user support for solutions.
For customers, the combination will be seen first and foremost as a broader service offering. Elmo’s existing customers will gain access to deeper Microsoft, data and AI expertise, while Solu Digital’s customers will benefit from Elmo’s strong ICT, cybersecurity and managed services capabilities. The shared goal is to help customers move in a controlled way from individual technology initiatives toward secure, scalable solutions that support business needs.
AI must deliver value – securely and as part of the business
AI is rapidly changing how organizations work, lead and develop their business processes. However, technologies alone or individual experiments do not yet create competitive advantage. Organizations need usable data, effective platforms, secure ICT environments and the expertise to bring new solutions into people’s everyday work.
Elmo’s goal is to build a service offering in which customers can obtain both AI and digital work solutions and the secure, reliable technical foundation they require from the same partner. Following the acquisition, Elmo will be able to offer its customers an even stronger overall capability for utilizing AI and data.
“For us, this is not just an acquisition or a step toward becoming larger. It is a significant leap in capability. AI is no longer a separate technology project; it is becoming part of almost all work and business. We want to help our customers move from AI talk to concrete, secure solutions that deliver measurable value,” says Elmo’s CEO Janne Aaltonen.
Solu Digital has exceptionally strong practical expertise in Microsoft productivity solutions, information and data management, and AI. A good example is Solu 365®, which automates the creation and management of Teams groups, harmonizes operating models, and improves information management and security. The solution demonstrates concretely how Microsoft technology can be productized into a service that makes customers’ everyday work easier and improves productivity. Even more importantly, Solu Digital approaches technology through people, work and the customer’s business. In this thinking, we have a very strong shared foundation,” Aaltonen continues.
A shared direction and complementary expertise
Founded in 2011, Solu Digital helps organizations develop their digital work environments and make more effective use of information. The company has delivered Microsoft technology-based solutions to more than 300 customers across several industries. Solu Digital is a Microsoft Solutions Partner in the following areas: Data & AI, Digital & App Innovation, and Modern Work.
Elmo brings to the combined offering a broad customer base, nationwide service capability, and strong expertise in ICT outsourcing services, Microsoft cloud services and cybersecurity. Elmo was also the first company in Finland to receive ISO/IEC 42001 certification for its AI management system. This creates a strong foundation for the responsible, secure and long-term development of AI solutions.
“At Solu Digital, we have been building expertise since 2011 in bringing technology, information and people together. As part of Elmo, we can bring this expertise to an even broader customer base and offer our customers more comprehensive services than before. Elmo’s strong customer-oriented and people-centered culture makes it a very natural partner for our next phase of growth,” says Jari Kyläjärvi, CEO of Solu Digital.
Technology as sustainable competitive advantage
Elmo’s vision is to be the most desired partner that turns technology into sustainable competitive advantage for its customers. The acquisition brings this vision to life in a concrete way: Elmo wants to be a partner that not only keeps customers’ ICT operations running, but also helps customers renew their operations and build new competitive advantage through technology.
Solu Digital will continue after the acquisition as a separate company and under its own name as part of the Elmo Group. Solu Digital’s employees will continue with the company, and customers’ services and familiar contacts will remain unchanged. The transaction will not cause interruptions or immediate changes to customers’ everyday operations.
Solu Digital’s strong position among Finland’s top 500 companies also supports Elmo’s strategic goal of growing its business in new customer accounts and strengthening its presence especially in Uusimaa and Southwest Finland. Together, the companies will be able to serve current and new customers in the region with broader expertise and a local approach.
For Elmo’s and Solu Digital’s partners, the acquisition means an even stronger and broader partner network. Existing partnerships will continue, and the combined expertise opens new opportunities to develop joint customer solutions especially in the Microsoft ecosystem, cybersecurity, cloud services and the responsible use of AI.
The acquisition will take effect on 30 September 2026. The purchase price will not be disclosed.
