Restaurant Filippi, partly owned by Zhoda Investments, has once again been awarded a Michelin Recommendation - a mark of quality that highlights the restaurant's high standards in gastronomy, service, and overall dining experience. This marks the sixth time in seven years that Filippi has been acknowledged by the internationally renowned Michelin Guide.
This year's Croatian Michelin recognitions were announced at an official ceremony held in Šibenik, at the historic St. John's Fortress (fort sv. Ivana) - a symbolic venue representing both tradition and innovation, much like the philosophy behind Filippi's cuisine.
Located in the old town of Korčula with a magnificent view of the Adriatic Sea, Filippi has become a leading gastronomic destination in Dalmatia. The restaurant offers a modern interpretation of traditional Dalmatian cuisine, where local ingredients, craftsmanship, and heritage meet international techniques and contemporary finesse.
At the helm of the kitchen this season is Chef Ivan Uglik, who brings with him years of experience from leading restaurants across Croatia, Austria, and Switzerland. His decision to return to the island where his culinary journey began is driven by a desire to combine the best of two worlds.
"Every dish at Filippi is a love letter to my roots - a combination of local ingredients, Mediterranean soul, and everything I've learned throughout my career. Cooking here, on this island, feels like coming home," says Chef Ivan Uglik.
Filippi plays an important role in Zhoda Investments' presence in Dalmatia, serving as a platform where food, wine, and location come together at the highest level. The restaurant is also an important showcase for the group's premium wines from Testament Winery and Black Island Winery, often featured in carefully curated seasonal menus.
"The Michelin Recommendation is a recognition of the hard work and dedication of the entire Filippi team. We are proud to be part of Croatia's gastronomic landscape and look forward to an exciting season with our new head chef," says Robert Karlsson, CEO of Zhoda Investments.
