Alcoa to Invest $65 Million to Expand Production at Norway Smelter

04:51 AM EDT, 05/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Alcoa (AA) will invest $65 million to expand foundry production at its Mosjoen smelter in Norway, adding recycled content to the casting process, the company said late Monday.
The investment will expand and upgrade the smelter's casthouse, increasing capacity by up to 75,000 metric tons, Alcoa said.
The upgrades include a new open mold foundry casting line, melting furnaces and other casthouse improvements, according to the company
The project is expected to be completed in phases, with commissioning and ramp-up scheduled through 2028, Alcoa said.
