Fresnillo Logs Lower Silver, Gold Production in Q1; Lead, Zinc Outputs Rise

02:42 AM EDT, 04/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Fresnillo (FRES.L) reported on Wednesday that attributable production of silver and gold decreased in the first quarter, while lead and zinc production increased year over year.
The mining company's total silver production in the three months ended March 31 was 11.1 million ounces, compared with 12.4 million ounces previously. Gold production decreased to 136,074 ounces from 156,105 ounces.
Lead production came in at 15,390 tonnes, compared with 15,030 tonnes in the prior-year period. Zinc production was 26,126 tonnes, compared with 25,249 tonnes earlier.
For full-year 2026, the group expects attributable production between 42 million ounces and 46.5 million ounces of silver; between 500,000 ounces and 550,000 ounces of gold; between 54,000 tonnes and 59,000 tonnes of lead; and between 85,000 tonnes and 95,000 tonnes of zinc.
Looking further ahead to 2027 and 2028, Fresnillo expects silver production in the range of 45 million ounces to 51 million ounces and for gold production between 535,000 ounces and 595,000 ounces. Lead production is expected in the range of 51,000 tonnes to 57,000 tonnes for 2027 and between 56,000 tonnes and 62,000 tonnes for 2028. Guidance for zinc production is between 93,000 tonnes and 103,000 tonnes for 2027 and between 100,000 tonnes and 112,000 tonnes for 2028.
