04:42 AM EDT, 05/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon-backed Anthropic (AMZN) is close to setting up a joint venture with Blackstone (BX), Goldman Sachs (GS), and other firms to expand the use of its artificial intelligence tools, The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter.

The joint venture is expected to attract about $1.5 billion in total funding, with Anthropic, Blackstone and Hellman &Friedman expected to invest about $300 million, while Goldman Sachs is set to commit about $150 million as a founding investor, according to the report.

Anthropic plans to create a consulting company that would function as an advisory platform for private equity firms to deploy AI across their business operations, the report said.

Goldman Sachs declined to comment, while Anthropic and Blackstone did not immediately respond to MT Newswires'request for comment.
