07:51 AM EDT, 05/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Telecommunications group Telenor (TEL.OL) plans to set up a Norwegian sovereign cloud company aimed at providing secure and resilient digital infrastructure, according to a Tuesday release.

The initiative, dubbed Telenor Sovereign Cloud, will initially be developed in Norway, with potential expansion across the Nordics over time. The new company will serve organizations with stringent security, resilience, and regulatory compliance requirements.

It will be established as a standalone company under the Telenor Infrastructure business area, and will be developed in partnership with selected technology partners, with Telenor retaining control over architecture, operations, and security.
