BrainCool AB (publ) (together with its subsidiary BrainCool Inc.), an innovative Swedish medical device company with focus on temperature management today announced two management changes. New VP Sales and support BrainCool Inc, Mr. Troy Van Der Veur As of January 27, 2020, Mr. Troy Van Der Veur has been promoted to the role of Vice President in the US subsidiary, BrainCool Inc.  Mr. Van Der Veur previously held the role of Director Business Development in the company and has been the acting manager since Bryan Nicholson left the company on November 26, 2019. This restructuring of the US organization has taken place during the last quarter of 2019, with a clear focus to improve sales penetration and implement an improved service model. The new US organization and sales plan will be presented in an interview with Troy Van Der Veur and Martin Waleij with BioStock  February 6. In addition, a capital market day with focus on the US market will be planned in the second quarter of 2020.” Mr. Van Der Veur has a strong sales background in medical devices with thorough understanding of the Targeted Temperature Management market and competitive landscape. Mr. Van Der Veur has been a driving force in building the BrainCool Inc. organization as he has fostered sales opportunities and created strategic partnerships in the US Market. New Chief Technical Officer (CTO) BrainCool AB, Mr. Johan Johansson  Starting March 1, 2020 Mr. Johan Johansson will take the position as CTO of BrainCool. He has a solid track record working with medical device development within Baxter (previously Gambro), with a background in electronics and software development. He currently holds the position of technical manager for the acute dialysis product Prismaflex within Baxter. Mr. Johansson will add further know how to the company and brings with him valuable experience of working with US approval of devices as well as managing quality assurance (QA) systems and FDA audits. He will be an important resource in the goal of bringing further two medical devices to the US and international market in the coming years. The current CTO Ola Strömberg will remain in the company with a role as project manager with focus on supply chain management and cost reduction projects within the BrainCool product portfolio. BrainCool’s Martin Waleij, CEO of BrainCool, says: “In our pursuit of becoming the market leader within medical devices for temperature management, BrainCool is building upon and strengthening its U.S. team.  We look forward to enhancing our unique portfolio as we also prepare for the launch of our second product within the oncology market in the U.S.” Troy Van Der Veur has the right background, experience and capabilities to lead the launch and sales penetration of IQool in the highly competitive US market and paving the way for taking additional products to commercialization in the near future.
