Lamor has started preparations for first major deliveries from the company’s new Saudi Service Centre. As part of the project, advanced water intake protection and oil spill response systems will be supplied and installed for Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) across several power plants along the central and northern Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia.
In partnership with long-standing collaborator Zamil (ZOMCO), Lamor will deliver and install asset protection solutions to ensure uninterrupted operations at critical power generation sites. A part of the equipment will be produced at Lamor’s new regional Service Centre and installed by its local technical team, underscoring Lamor’s long-term commitment to working within the Kingdom. The order was booked in the order backlog during the second quarter of 2025.
“This project highlights how Lamor’s technology is increasingly being used to secure critical infrastructure — not only for oil spill response, but also for broader environmental risk management and for example water intake protection,” says Johan Grön, CEO of Lamor. “Our investment in local capability also means we can deliver tailored solutions and reliable service more broadly in the GCC countries.”
The new Service Centre forms part of Lamor’s broader strategy to enhance regional response capabilities, expand local manufacturing of “Saudi Made” solutions, and deliver innovative solutions tailored to the needs of partners in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East.
Lamor has decades of experience in innovation and know-how of oil spill response technology and prevention. Its equipment has consistently proven reliable in some of the world’s harshest environments. Lamor’s technology and services help to protect sensitive sea areas and coasts from the negative effects of potential oil spills.
