Exel Composites Plc was targeted by a cyberattack in July 2025. The data breach was confirmed on 18 July 2025 and affected a limited number of workstations and servers. Unfortunately, as a result of the attack, personal data of current and former employees as well as shareholders – such as names, addresses, and personal identity numbers – has leaked. If you are or have been a shareholder during the years 2019–2022 or 2024–2025, your data may have been exposed.
The company has taken immediate action to investigate the situation and limit its impact, in cooperation with authorities and cybersecurity experts. Exel has also published a website at https://investors-fi.exelcomposites.com/tietomurto-2025 which contains instructions for protecting personal data, guidance on activating protection services covered by the company, and a Q&A section.
Starting 30 July 2025, the company will send letters containing instructions to those current and former shareholders and former employees whose data may have been exposed. The content of the letters is a summary of the information and guidance available on the aforementioned website.
The company provides a dedicated data breach helpline. The service is available until 31 August 2025 at +358 50 591 2012 during the following hours (EEST, UTC/GMT +3): Mon, Wed & Fri: 9:00–13:00, Tue & Thu: 13:00–17:00, Sat & Sun: 10:00–13:00.
