Gripen Oil & Gas AB announce today that their first well on Gotland, BÅ-6, has been suspended as a candidate for further stimulation. BÅ-6 reached a TD of 317.6m within the Ordovician Klasen Limestone. The top 19,5m of the cored reservoir had good oil shows.
Tests were carried out over a section from 289-308,5m. Testing operations recovered small amounts of oil and gas along with oil emulsion. The well has been suspended to allow analysis of the data before conducting further operations at BÅ-6.
The well achieved its objective to acquire core and fluid sample data from the reservoir.
The core data will provide information about rock properties such as porosity, permeability and oil saturation. This data will also be used to calculate the potential oil resource of the exploration permits and the productivity of the reservoir.
Stephen Crabtree, CEO, said:
“We have collected a considerable amount of core data and samples during this operation which require analysis before deciding the next course of action for this well. In addition, the core and sample data enable independent experts to determine in place volumes of oil. We will use this information to highlight areas with greatest potential within our exploration permits. We are encouraged by the results so far and the performance of the drilling operation.”
