Klimator releases a major upgrade of Road Status Information (RSI), built together with 1,500+ contributors including operators, supervisors, and road authorities across existing markets. The new RSI is designed to make modern winter operations simpler, faster, and measurably more effective.
“This makes RSI the operational backbone for winter: faster maps, clearer risk insights, and simpler actions for crews. Safer roads. Less salt. Better nights,” said Søren Pedersen, Head of Winter Maintenance, Klimator AB.
How RSI powers smarter salting:
- Dynamic Salting
Plan the dose per road segment. Compatible spreaders fetch the set-points directly from RSI and apply them automatically—right time, right amount. - Adaptive Salting
Start with the plan, then fine-tune on the move. An onboard vehicle solution uses live road measurements to auto-adjust compatible spreaders in real time—just enough salt, exactly where it’s needed.
Additional upgrades
- New UX-design supporting individual, group - and centralized desicions.
- Segmented road-weather forecasts and routes with clear confidence for faster go/no-go decisions.
- Winter Maintenance Index (WMI) KPIs and contract-ready reporting.
Launching on October 1, 2025. The future — and our winter contractors — are already in motion.
