S&P Global Announces Successful Completion of its Acquisition of ORBCOMM's Automatic Identification System Business

Acquisition will strengthen S&P Global's maritime analytics and global trade intelligence offerings and support its global supply chain strategy
NEW YORK , Nov. 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- S&P Global (NYSE: SPGI) today announced the successful completion of its acquisition of ORBCOMM's Automatic Identification System (AIS) business. The AIS business is a leading provider of satellite data services used to track and monitor vessels, enhancing maritime visibility and delivering critical insights that support business intelligence and decision-making for clients worldwide. It will be operated within the S&P Global Market Intelligence division and support the S&P Global supply chain strategy.
The two organizations have also established a strategic alliance framework aimed at developing a diverse array of differentiated supply chain data and insights, supplementing S&P Global's leading maritime, risk and trade solutions and further highlighting its continued dedication to investment in this sector.
S&P Global announced its agreement to acquire ORBCOMM's AIS business in April 2025 . The Company does not expect this transaction to have a material financial impact on S&P Global Market Intelligence or S&P Global as a whole.
