07:50 AM EDT, 05/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- AT&T (T) said Thursday that it, along with T-Mobile (TMUS) and Verizon (VZ), has agreed in principle to form a joint venture aimed at reducing wireless dead zones across the US, particularly in rural and hard-to-reach areas.

The proposed JV will pool spectrum resources and integrate satellite connectivity to improve coverage, network capacity and overall user experience, as per AT&T. The deal is still subject to final agreements and regulatory approvals, it added.

The initiative is designed to complement existing terrestrial networks, offering backup connectivity during outages and extending service to areas without reliable coverage, the company said. It will also create a unified platform for satellite providers, enabling easier integration and broader direct-to-device services, it added.
