(Alliance News) - Danaher Corp on Tuesday reported higher first-quarter earnings and sales, and raised its full-year profit outlook, citing solid execution and growth in key segments.

The Washington DC-based life sciences and diagnostics company said net earnings rose to USD1.03 billion in the first quarter from USD954 million a year earlier. Diluted earnings per share increased to USD1.45 from USD1.33.

Adjusted diluted earnings per share grew 9.5% to USD2.06.

Revenue climbed 3.5% to USD5.95 billion from USD5.74 billion, while core revenue increased 0.5%.

Chief Executive Officer Rainer Blair said the company delivered "strong" earnings growth, supported by productivity gains and continued recovery in demand.

"On the top line, we continued on a steady recovery path with strength in Bioprocessing and better-than-expected performance in Life Sciences largely offsetting the impact of a lighter-than-typical first-quarter respiratory season at Cepheid," Blair said.

Danaher also highlighted strong cash generation, with operating cash flow of USD1.3 billion and free cash flow of USD1.1 billion.

Looking ahead, the company raised its full-year 2026 adjusted diluted earnings per share guidance to a range of USD8.35 to USD8.55, from a prior range of USD8.35 to USD8.50.

Danaher maintained its expectation for full-year core revenue growth of 3% to 6%, and said it anticipates low single-digit core revenue growth in the second quarter.

Blair added that the company's balance sheet and cash flow provide flexibility for further investment, including its planned acquisition of Masimo Corp, a provider of patient monitoring solutions.

"We believe there are clear opportunities to enhance Masimo's performance through [Danaher Business System] and our global scale," he said.

Danaher shares were up 2.1% at USD199.65 during premarket trading on Tuesday.
