05:09 AM EDT, 04/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Paramount Skydance (PSKY) is seeking approval from the US Federal Communications Commission regarding foreign investments backing the company's proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), according to a regulatory filing made public Monday.
"As a result of the proposed investment, Paramount anticipates an increase in foreign investment in its parent entity,"the company said in the filing. "Paramount requests that the commission issue a declaratory ruling to permit existing and prospective foreign investors to indirectly hold in excess of 25% of Paramount's equity and/or voting interests."
The company said that existing and expected foreign investors will own "slightly less"than 50% of Paramount's equity following the investments, but the family of Paramount Chief Executive David Ellison will continue to control voting shares, the filing showed.
The filing is completely standard for investments and is not a condition to closing the Paramount-Warner Bros. deal, Reuters reported, citing a Paramount spokesperson.
