04:30 AM EDT, 04/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Pony AI (PONY) expects the total cost of its 2027 Robotaxi in China to drop below 230,000 Chinese renminbi ($33,649), which would be lower than the current starting price of a locally produced Tesla (TSLA) Model 3 in that market, the company said Friday.

Pony AI outlined plans to expand its fleet to more than 3,000 Robotaxis by the end of 2026 and grow its presence to 20 cities across the globe.

The company said it intends to introduce an overseas version customized for local regulatory requirements and conditions based on its Gen-7 Robotaxi platform.

Pony AI also said the Gen-7 bZ4X Robotaxi has received an on-road testing permit in Guangzhou, China, with the company and Toyota Motor (TM) planning to deploy 1,000 vehicles in 2026 across major tier-one Chinese cities.

Pony AI also introduced an electric light-duty truck purpose-built for L4 autonomous driving and developed in collaboration with Contemporary Amperex Technology.

Pony AI shares were up 1.9% in premarket activity.
