Sweco Wins Consulting, Design Services Deals for Finnish Railway Project

02:41 AM EDT, 05/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Sweco (SWEC-A.ST) said Tuesday it secured consulting services contracts worth 24 million euros from the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency, or Väylävirasto.
Under the eight-year agreements, the architecture and engineering consultancy company will provide design and commissioning inspection services for the country's implementation of the European Rail Traffic Management System standard.
Specifically, the company will be in charge of the design of the safety equipment and traffic control systems replacements for the Western and Southern Finland railway sections of the project.
Work is slated to start in the third quarter or the fourth quarter of 2026 and will run until 2034.
