Intertek Group's (ITRK.L) directors are likely to reject EQT's (EQT.ST) increased takeover proposal of 10 billion pounds sterling, London's Financial Times reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The unnamed sources said Intertek still believes the new 58 pound-per-share offer undervalues the company, but noted that it is already close to what would be acceptable for the targeted testing laboratories company.

EQT has until May 14 to finalize whether it will pursue a takeover proposal for Intertek or walk away.

Intertek declined to comment, while EQT did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
