US natural gas stocks increased as expected last week - EIA

(Alliance News) - US stocks of working gas in underground storage increased in line with market guidance last week, the Energy Information Administration reported on Thursday.
Natural gas stocks increased by 85 billion cubic feet to 2,290 bcf in the week ended May 8, the EIA said, from 2,205 bcf for the week ended May 1.
The weekly change was in line with FXStreet-cited consensus, and higher than the previous week's increase of 63bcf.
"Stocks were 51 bcf higher than last year at this time and 140 bcf above the five-year average of 2,150 bcf," the EIA noted. "At 2,290 Bcf, total working gas is within the five-year historical range."
