Airbus, Radmor, Thales-Leonardo SpA JV Team Up for Defense Satellite Project in Poland

10:55 AM EDT, 04/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Airbus (AIR.PA, AIR.F) on Monday unveiled an industrial cooperation agreement for the development of a geostationary defense telecommunications satellite for the Polish Ministry of Defense.
Airbus Defence and Space, Radmor, and Thales Alenia Space, a 67/33 joint venture between Thales (HO.PA) and Leonardo SpA (LDO.MI), signed the deal.
The planemaker and the defense companies will combine their respective capabilities in military communications payloads, mission control, satellite platform design and industrialization, as well as ground infrastructure and cybersecurity to provide a secure communication system for the Polish armed forces.
The project is part of the European Commission's defense Readiness Roadmap 2030 initiative.
