03:55 AM EDT, 04/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft (MSFT) must face a lawsuit in the UK over its cloud and software licensing practices, with potential damages estimated at more than 1.7 billion British pounds ($2.30 billion), according to a ruling by the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal on Tuesday.

The claim alleges Microsoft used its dominance in the server operating system market to disadvantage rival cloud computing providers through higher pricing and restrictions tied to its Azure platform, resulting in higher costs for customers using competing services, the tribunal said.

Microsoft did not immediately respond to MT Newswires'request for comment.
