03:41 AM EDT, 05/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Rivian Automotive (RIVN) is developing variants of its electric R2 sport-utility vehicles, Reuters reported late Tuesday, citing an interview with the company's chief executive.

Rivian plans to begin deliveries of its R2 SUVs, priced at around $58,000, around June with production of the vehicle set to be expanded to a new plant in Georgia, the report said. Another $45,000 vehicle is expected next year, according to the report.

"There are other variants of R2, which we haven't shown,"Chief Executive RJ Scaringe was quoted as saying. "What we're building in Georgia allows for different variations."

Rivian did not immediately reply to MT Newswires'request for comment.
