SIBS signs Preconstruction Agreement for 800 units in one of Europe’s largest urban regeneration projects
SIBS AB (publ) is pleased to announce that its subsidiary SIBS Sdn Bhd has been appointed as design and preconstruction partner for a landmark student accommodation and hotel development within one of Europe’s largest urban regeneration projects, located in one of the largest cities in Southern Europe. The urban development spans millions of square meters centrally located within the city, incorporating residential, commercial, educational, cultural and leisure uses.
SIBS has been engaged to deliver the design of approximately 800 units of premium student accommodation within the development’s education precinct, which includes purpose-built campuses for leading universities. The student units are planned to convert to hotel rooms in the summer months. The agreement covers full architectural and technical design through to production-ready documentation, with the intention to proceed to modular manufacturing and delivery under a subsequent production contract. The development will benefit from SIBS’s industrialized building platform, enabling accelerated delivery timelines, superior quality control and a reduced construction footprint compared to conventional methods.
The pre-construction phase is ongoing and will continue until the end of 2026. Production is targeted to start in early 2027.
