09:43 AM EDT, 04/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni called on outgoing Terna (TRN.MI) Chief Executive Officer Giuseppina di Foggia to choose between severance pay and a new role at a state-controlled company, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday.

Di Foggia has so far refused to choose either a 7.3 million-euro pay or the chairwoman position at energy company Eni (ENI.MI), as moves between state-backed companies usually exclude severance packages, according to Italian press reports. Meloni told reporters that the choice is "rather obvious"for her, but the government will "weigh alternatives if necessary."

Terna is set to hold an extraordinary board meeting to discuss the matter in the coming days, the report added.
