Umicore Appoints Synthomer CFO to Same Role; Adds Chief Digital &Transformation Officer

04:45 AM EDT, 04/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Umicore (UMI.BR) appointed Lily Liu as its new chief financial officer and executive vice president, effective Aug. 1, according to a Thursday release.
Liu will succeed outgoing CFO Wannes Peferoen, who will hand over the position and then serve in a special advisory capacity until Feb. 28, 2027. Liu currently serves as CFO of London-listed specialty chemicals company Synthomer (SYNT.L).
The advanced materials and recycling group also established the position of chief digital &transformation officer and appointed Marten Zieris to the role, also effective Aug. 1. Zieris previously served as partner and head of growth &transformation practice for Central Europe at management consulting company Arthur D. Little.
